What is a Roof Fascia?
Typically fastened to the gutter, the fascia is the vertical board that runs directly under the eaves of a roof. When coupled with the soffit, which is a horizontal board that connects the walls to the fascia, they form an enclosure for the eaves of the roof. Fascias are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing; they cover up unsightly structural elements like rafters. Fascia’s main job is to keep the roof and interior of your home dry and safe from the elements.
What is guttering?
A roof’s protection system isn’t complete without guttering, a narrow, thin trough used to collect rainwater. Guttering is used to collect water that runs off of the roof and to channel its drainage in a specific direction.
